Nothing’s Better than Food and the Blues
By admin | July 29, 2011
Nothing can beat going out, eating great food, and listening to the blues at a local Philadelphia club on a Saturday night. There is no reason to stay home when the music scene is hopping and there is live music to be heard. Grabbing a cheese steak sub and a cold glass of beer is a nice start to get the mood rolling amongst you and your entourage before heading over to the club and drinking those workday sorrows away. Artists like Stevie Ray Vaughan and B.B. King have inspired a whole range of new Blues artists who are ready to spread their bittersweet message to the world.
Whether you’re out on the town for a hearty barbeque sandwich or some fried chicken, there are plenty of locally owned places to grab some grub. After that good old-fashioned Philadelphia meal, it should be time for you to dance those blues away. You might even catch a show by a major artist, although the independent musicians who are just starting out are hungrier and more soulful than ever before, making it worth your while to check a few of them out. You just might discover your new favorite blues band.
Indeed, when life has you down, nothing’s better than food and the blues.
